JOE MAZZARI
TEXAS EAST COAST THUNDER BAND
Joe Mazzari, guitar, lead vocals, songwriter, is a battle-tested veteran of the American underground rock scene. He leads His Texas East Coast Thunder Band, a newly formed powerhouse dedicated to channeling his legendary East Coast roots—Boston rock and New York Dolls-era fire—while supercharging it with raw Texas energy from his current adopted home in San Antonio & New England.
Joe Mazzari began writing roots-rock music in his 20s, influenced by John Hiatt, Bob Dylan, Link Wray, Rory Gallagher, and the Delta blues musicians. Caught up in the Boston rock scene in the 1980s, Joe recorded a handful of albums/CDs and toured the U.S. and U.K.
Joe fronted The Daughters (who backed Johnny Thunders), Two Saints, Jacknife Beat, and the Joe Mazzari Band. He also recorded and toured with Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls and the Heartbreakers fame for three years, appearing on three of Johnny’s albums (Diary of a Lover, In Cold Blood, and Internal Possession). Joe had the good fortune to record with legendary producer Jimmy Miller (Rolling Stones, Traffic, Motörhead) and BBC’s John Peel.
Combining a touch of raunchy rock with his roots-rock music in the early 2000s, Joe gravitated back to his raw original style. He has written close to 300 songs… so far.
Now in Texas, His Texas East Coast Thunder Band delivers blistering guitar riffs, gritty soulful vocals, and a rhythm section that hits like a Texas thunderstorm—honoring the high-octane material from his Johnny Thunders and original East Coast era while bringing fresh fire to new audiences.
The Live Experience: Wall-shaking riffs, story-rich songwriting, and the no-nonsense rock ’n’ roll attitude that made the East Coast scene legendary—now with Texas swagger and volume. Perfect for rock clubs, honky-tonks, festivals, biker runs, and roots-punk crowds.
61 GHOSTS
Joe Mazzari & Dixie Deadwood
61 Ghosts is a raw, high-octane male-female duo that slams original Outlaw Americana straight into the hypnotic fire of Mississippi Hill Country blues — all powered by a relentless catalog of original songs.
Guitarist, lead vocalist, and songwriter Joe Mazzari brings nearly 300 original roots-rock and outlaw tunes. Drawing from John Hiatt, Bob Dylan, Link Wray, Rory Gallagher, and Delta blues, Joe built his sound in the Boston and New York scenes of the ’80s, fronting The Daughters (who backed Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls and Heartbreakers), Two Saints, Jacknife Beat, and the Joe Mazzari Band. He toured and recorded three albums with Thunders and cut tracks with legendary producer Jimmy Miller (Rolling Stones, Traffic, Motörhead).
Dixie Deadwood delivers the thunder on drums and fiery backing vocals with pure Mississippi Hill Country blues DNA. Self-taught after discovering Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside in the documentary Deep Blues, she powered All Night Long (three albums) before becoming the onstage force for the late Leo “Bud” Welch, touring 20+ festivals across the U.S., Europe, and Africa. She’s featured in Late Blossom Blues and honored on Welch’s Mississippi Blues Trail Marker.
Together, Joe and Dixie create something dangerous and addictive: original Outlaw Americana soaked in Mississippi Hill Country blues — stripped-down, sweat-drenched, and impossible to sit still for. No filler. No covers. Just original songs that hit like a back-alley bar fight one minute and a haunted Delta trance the next.
The duo chemistry is electric and telepathic. Friends for nearly 20 years before forming the band in 2016, they now deliver 200+ gigs of high-voltage, no-safety-net fire. “He’s fun to watch as he tells his stories through songs with such honesty,” says Dixie. “It’s like watching an actor playing out a scene with such conviction! Playing as a duo there’s no room to hide. We both play from the heart, in the moment and each show is never the same.”
From legendary rock rooms (CBGB’s, The Rat, The Paradise, Irving Plaza, The Marquee Club London, The Cavern Club Liverpool) to blues strongholds (Ground Zero, Red’s Lounge, Chickie Wah-Wah) and major festivals (Beale Street Music Festival, Telluride Blues & Brews, King Biscuit, Deep Blues Festival, plus international stops from Ireland to Switzerland to the Ivory Coast), 61 Ghosts leaves every venue wrecked — in the best way.
This is not background music. This is sweat-soaked, soul-stirring, get-on-your-feet rock ’n’ roll and blues with ghosts in the grooves and fire on the stage. Book 61 Ghosts and watch your dance floor (and bar) come alive.
